World Economic Forum recommends 6 measures that the global community can implement to support LDCs -many of them also landlocked least developed countries
As countries queue up their COVID-19 response mechanisms, an even bigger threat has largely been ignored by the international community: What will happen when the coronavirus spreads to the world’s least developed countries (LDCs) and war-torn environments, where healthcare systems are informal, insufficient or nonexistent.
What is to be done in those nearly 50 countries, who fall under the United Nation’s Least-Developed Country (LDC) status, home to nearly 900 million people worldwide. As governments around the world prepare for the worst, what lessons are relevant to those countries that lack the economic resources and medical infrastructure of South Korea?
