The UN recently presented their annual World Happiness Report which evaluates 149 countries on key happiness indicators such as life expectancy, social support, corruption, and other factors. Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan, both landlocked developing countries, took 33rd and 36th place respectively, overtaking Russia, Georgia, and Ukraine based on the 2020 surveys.
Finland remains in first place in the ranking for the fourth year in a row. Iceland, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Norway, New Zealand, and Austria are also among the ten happiest countries.
As for some of the other notable landlocked developing countries, Mongolia is at 45th place, Moldova at 49th, Tajikistan at 62nd, Laos at 67th, and North Macedonia at 75th places.
