The International Think Tank for LLDCs participates in the Ministerial Meeting of the LLDCs in Nairobi, Kenya.

The International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries is participating in the Ministerial Meeting of the Landlocked Developing Countries in Nairobi, Kenya in July 16, 2016.

Just one day before the official opening of the UNCTAD 14 in Nairobi, Kenya, the Ministerial Meeting of the Landlocked Developing Countries is being held in Kenyatta International Convention Center.

The opening speech was given by H.E. Ambassador Rigoberto Gauto, Vice minister of Economic Relations of Government of Paraguay, Coordinator of the Landlocked Developing Countries Group in Geneva and H.E.Gyan Chandra Acharya, Under-Secretary General and High Representative for LDCs, LLDCs and SIDS.

Following the distinguished speakers Interim Director of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries Mr. E. Odbayar was given the floor as the first speaker to address Ministers and distinguished representatives of the Landlocked Developing Countries.

Interim director Mr. E. Odbayar has underlined the importance of the accession of the LLDCs to the Multilateral Agreement for establishment of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries and called on all LLDCs to demonstrate leadership and ownership by acceding to the Multilateral agreement in order to bring the ITT for LLDCs to its full operation within a secure legal framework.
