Royal Government of Bhutan decided to pursue accession to the Multilateral Agreement on the establishment of an International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries.

“…At the invitation of H.E. Lyonpo Damcho Dorji, Foreign Minister of Bhutan, H.E. Mr. Tsend Munkh-Orgil, Foreign Minister of Mongolia visited Bhutan from 20-23 December 2016.

The Foreign Minister of Mongolia was accompanied by Honourable Mr. Lkhagvaa Eldev-Ochir, Member of Parliament, Mr. Gonchig Ganbold, Mongolia’s Ambassador to Bhutan, Mr. Erdenetsogt Odbayar, Ambassador-at-Large and Interim Director of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries, and other senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Mongolia.

The Mongolian delegation followed up on Mongolia’s request for Bhutan to consider joining the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries initiated by Mongolia.

H.E. Lyonpo Damcho Dorji expressed appreciation for Mongolia’s leadership on issues of importance to Landlocked Developing Countries.

The Foreign Minister of Bhutan conveyed the Royal Government’s decision to pursue Bhutan’s accession to the Multilateral Agreement on the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries…”
