H.E. Mr. Munkh-Orgil Tsend, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, met with H.E. Mr. Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, at the United Nations Headquarters on 20 September on the margins of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The two Foreign Ministers emphasized the importance of high-level visits in expanding and developing the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries and discussed necessary further steps.
Having briefed on the recent activities of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil stressed the importance of evidence-based research and analyses on real challenges and problems faced by the landlocked developing countries. Furthermore, the Mongolian Minister expressed his hope that Azerbaijan would ratify the Multilateral Agreement on the Establishment of an International Think Tank for LLDCs at the earliest convenience. The Azerbaijani counterpart promised to give close attention to the Mongolian request.
