The International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries (ITTLLDC) is pleased to welcome Mr. Angelo Groza as an intern in this year’s internship program. The Secretariat of ITTLLDC is very excited to have him be part of our team!
Angelo Groza is a 5th year student at the Australian Catholic University, where he studies a double Bachelors degree in Law (Honours) and Global Studies. During his time at University, Angelo has received multiple academic commendations for his studies. At the end of 2021, Angelo was awarded a prestigious New Colombo Scholarship for the Philippines by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The New Colombo Scholarship is a signature initiative of the Australian government aimed at lifting knowledge of the Indo-Pacific by sponsoring Australian undergraduate students to study, intern, and learn languages in the region. Through the scholarship program, Angelo is currently undertaking a semester exchange at Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines, where he is studying Philippine foreign policy and politics. He also has a diverse set of work and volunteer experience. For 1 year, Angelo spent time working on the election campaign of a member of parliament, later going on to continue volunteering in political positions and holding several party offices. In 2019, he also took part in a local government consultative committee. From 2020 onwards, Angelo has worked at different Australian law firms, mostly in the area of family law but also gaining experience in company law, charity law, and international development. Through his studies and career, he has developed a keen interest in international trade law, and hopes to work in this sector in the future. Rounding off his interests, Angelo also works as the producer for a podcast that explores political, cultural, and theological ideas that shape the 21st century.
According to the internship requirement of the ITTLLDC, interns will conduct at least one research paper on a chosen topic related to LLDC issues during his/her internship.
