Welcome to the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries!
It is an honor to lead the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries (ITT for LLDCs) in its ongoing pursuit to become the first ever International Think Tank in the world dedicating its work to the special needs and challenges facing LLDCs.
The ITT for LLDCs was officially launched in 2009 by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This new think tank serves a recognized need for landlocked developing countries. It provides a center of excellence for landlocked developing countries by using top-quality research that will translate into policy formulation and ultimately into action.
Our think tank actively engages in global dialogues on LLDC-related issues by organizing regional as well as international seminars and conferences to contribute to the development of policy debate in collaboration with governmental and non-governmental organizations, including private sector, national and international universities as well as research institutes.
Our think tank focuses on the following research topics:
- Transport and access issues of LLDCs
- Trade and economic development issues of LLDCs
- Trade Facilitation and LLDCs
- Technology and connectivity issues of LLDCs
- Economic Diversification in LLDCs
- Global Value Chains
- Regional Cooperation and Integration and many more.
Apart from developing studies in areas mentioned above, we also maintain and deepen our already established relationship with international organizations, universities, research personnel, public and private sector, while further expanding our network with partners and supporters.
I am proud to see that our publications are being used in LLDCs and by development partners.
Taking this opportunity, as the Executive director of Your International Think Tank for LLDCs, I call up on all remaining LLDCs, who are not yet a party to our agreement, to accede to the Multilateral Agreement for the Establishment of an International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries which would bring the ITT for LLDCs to its full operation in order to enhance the analytical capability and find feasible policy options for all LLDCs.
Recently,we have re-launched our website, enhancing its clarity and accessibility in order to maximize the public outreach.
On behalf of the entire team of the ITT for LLDCs, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all institutions and individuals who have shown kind concern and support to the work of ITT for LLDC’s from its very beginning.
Please take the time to browse through our website to explore the full dimension of our activities and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
We appreciate your kind and continued support.
